Welcome!!

I know God has great plans for my life and I hope others can be touched through my experiences!  I entered into college my freshman year as most people expect of a high school graduate.  It was all very typical up until the beginning of my second semester.  After a lot of talk from my mom about doing missions I really felt God put a calling on my heart to visit an orphanage in Africa.  After visiting with my mission pastor I felt like I needed to drop out of college and pursue this calling.  My mom and I went from  not even having passports the end of January to being at Sheltering Wings Orphanage in Burkina Faso the end of March.  All a miracle from God!

God Never Ceases To Surprise Me!

I have now been back home from Atlanta for about two months!  It has been good to be back and spend this time with my family.  Since I have been back I have just been kind of walking through the motions not exactly sure where I was going.  It wasn't until a few weeks ago that God really surprised me again!  My mom, grandma and I went into town one morning to do a few errands.  While waiting for my mom at the Chiropractor my grandma got to talking to me about my future (a topic I avoided mostly because I hadn't a clue what my future held).  Anyways it got me thinking.  That afternoon I was on my laptop, bored so I was just searching different things, when I felt lead to look up the Bible school that I knew was in Moberly.   I had been on their website a while back during my DTS but for some reason (aka God) different things on their site caught my eye this time.  And you must know I really was against going back to college for a couple reasons, one being I had absolutely no desi

"For the JOY of the Lord is my strength"

Joy pretty much describes my life right now for so many reasons!!!   First of all, I feel so blessed to have made so many new and amazing friends this semester at CCCB.  As the semester comes to an end, I am sad to part ways for the holidays but I will look forward to see everyone's smiling faces when I return!  God has taught me how important friendships are while being here because I am that introverted person that can tend to neglect friendships, especially if I have homework or other things going on, but these girls keep me balanced!  It has been truly wonderful to be around people of faith, especially when I get crazy God-given ideas for the future! My heart continues to be poked and prodded by God in so many ways!  However, my love for Africa still runs the deepest!  Since arriving back in America after my first trip to Burkina Faso I knew I wanted to go back! JOY!!!

As I begin this week I am filled with joy!!! The first week of DTS was absolutely amazing!!!  We really got to know each other and connect to one another!  I have already felt a change in my life!   Inside Martin Luther King Jr.'s Chruch! On thursday we learned about intercessory prayer!! This was a great teaching on something that I had really never heard of before, much less put into practice.  It is an incredible concept in which we can call out to God to help others and make huge changes in this world!  This is about us as a group coming together to pray for a cause that God has laid on our heart to change others lives!  Joanna and I at Centennial Park! Friday, we took a trip to Downtown Atlanta!!!
