The Glory of God!

Image
How wonderful these first few days at YWAM have been!!! Already I feel like each and everyone of us have connected.  I have seen and experienced things from God that I didn't even think too much into before.  The power and the mercy of God is so fantastic!  I have enjoyed the time that I have got to spend with my new friends but I especially have enjoyed all the personal time I have spent with the Lord! One thing that we will all be praying into a lot as we get into the DTS more is where to go for our outreach.  This will be a choice between two places overseas where some people will go to one place and others will go to another.  We don't know the choices yet but I really looking forward to hearing where the Lord wants me to go! Nothing unfortunately comes without a price however.  So, If anyone would be willing to support me, whether through prayer, financially or however, I would be so eager to have people help and join me in the process any way you ...

Through the Open Door!

Image
Well I walked through the door the Lord opened up for me Sunday!  Full of nerves, sadness and excitement I moved in and and got settled into the YWAM Atlanta base!  I had no idea what to expect but I knew that if it is from God then it must be good!  I came into this thinking that I knew who I wanted to be, which was more outspoken and talkative person.  I thought that would be fairly easy with the Lord's help and being around people that have never met me before so I could be anyone I wanted to be.  So I arrived and that is not how things went at all.  I can say with pretty much certainty that I am the least outspoken and talkative girl here!  It was kind of depressing!  However thanks to my amazing mom and a friend I was reminded that it is ok.  It may be hard but it is ok.  There is a reason!  I think that God is really going to show me who I am while I am here and allow me to get rid of the person I have tried to be for so long...

One foot at a time....

As it is now September, it is only a matter of time until I am headed down to Georgia!  Everything is thankfully coming together well and hopefully everything will continue to go smoothly!  I have no idea what to expect or where this path will lead but I know it will be wonderful!  This song is a song that I have loved to listen to in my preparation!  Hopefully it will bring great encouragement to others as well!  God will guide your steps, you just have to start walking!

Amazing Little Ones!

Baby Arouna!  He is an incredible miracle of God!  Many may know his story but for those who don't, Arouna's mother died in birth and many times in Burkina Faso they believe that the death of the mother is the baby's fault so the baby is normally discarded and forgot about.  Arouna was 3 days old when his father brought him to the orphanage and hadn't had any food for those first 3 days of life.  Now with the mother being gone the father or any other family member can not normally afford formula because it is typically more expensive than what they even make.  While my mom and I were in Burkina Arouna was only 1 month old and he was just so tiny!  I was given the opportunity to feed him once and I ended up having to give him to one of the baby caretakers because it was very difficult to keep him awake to drink his entire bottle!  However this was key to keep him gaining weight!  Now Arouna is 6 months old and even though he is behind he has...

Dream Big!

Image
I'm sure everyone has heard the saying, "The Lord works in mysterious ways" many times, but it is so true!  Growing up I loved softball! It is practically all I did and I had some big dreams!  I dreamed of one day moving out of the state of Missouri to some big D1 college like the University of Washington or UCLA (any of the top softball schools as I was growing up) and then my dreams got even bigger than that!  I wanted to play on the USA Olympic softball team and travel the world!   These were some pretty significant dreams I had but I was hopeful!  However, God didn't have the same plans for me.  Eventually injury after injury took me down to where it was just too painful and no fun to play anymore.  So I started at MU with no softball scholarship and all previous dreams completely crushed....or were they?  Next thing I know I am no longer in college and on a plane to Burkina Faso, Africa!  Step number 1 in traveling the world!  And n...

The Ups and Downs of Life...

This beautiful baby girl was recently rescued one day after she was born.  Her mother died during birth and she hadn't eaten since she was born.  Thankfully she is now in the care of the orphanage and is gaining weight! Sometimes the realities of life are very hard to deal with.  For the past month I have had my share of difficulties.  I have had my heart broken and betrayed by those who once called me their friend.  It is very difficult to go against the normal.  I not only get judged for being a believer but I also have very different dreams than the average American.  I'm not in college, I don't have a job and I dream to one day live in a third world country.  Most American's would call me crazy and as hard as things may be right now I have faith that one day I will meet those that have the same passions as me and will stand by me no matter what.  All of this has been a great struggle filled with so many ups and downs but ultimately I ...

Our own little world...

Lately I have been searching on the internet for countries in Africa that I would like to visit.  There are many but one of them on the list is Sierra Leone.  The country in which the movie Blood Diamond is based out of.  The country is at peace now but not without a huge price.  The movie really tugged at my heart.  It is hard to understand that this movie is based off true events, that there really are child soldiers that no nothing other than killing.  We are so blessed to live in America we can just ignore all the awful things that we want to pretend don't actually happen.  We can turn off the tv or put down the paper never seeing the dying happening right in front of us.  One person may not be able to change the world but one person can definitely change a life!  I believe I have been put on this earth by God to do just that!  We can make a difference!  I recommend watching the movie Blood Diamond and let it touch your heart! ...
